Mary Elizabeth Pitts serves as the Director of Finance for Old Pueblo Community Services. Her responsibilities include fiscal oversight, policy compliance, financial reporting, resource planning, and mentorship of the Finance team. Mary Elizabeth received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona. She has worked in several corporate industries, but ultimately discovered her desire to work in the not-for-profit sector and make an impact in her local community. Prior to joining OPCS, she worked at Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, where she learned about the needs of marginalized communities and housing disparities that exist in Tucson. She finds inspiration and enjoyment working alongside people that show passion for others and help drive a collective mission.
During her studies at Eller College of Management, she also studied Japanese and Mandarin. Her love of the Japanese culture began as a child when she lived in California. In her office, you may see a lucky cat or two from her collection. She can also be found listening to rap music, working on puzzles, and enjoying the company of animals – especially dogs. From Great Danes to Micro Bullies, her house is chaotic but full of love!
