Dr. Gary Becker, M.D.

    Gary Becker is a retired interventional radiologist and former University of Arizona College of Medicine professor of vascular and interventional radiology. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at Indiana University, where he also completed his residency and served as a member of the faculty. He is a published author, inventor, medical device company founder, and former medical journal editor-in-chief. Most recently, Gary served as Executive Director of the American Board of Radiology.

    A Chicago native, Gary has held numerous board, officership, and executive positions in professional organizations and foundations and served on the board of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. He is an active member of the Social Justice/Social Action Committee of Congregation Kol Ami, a board member of Baptist Health Medical Group, and a trustee for Baptist Health South Florida. Gary joined the OPCS board in January and serves on its governance committee.

    Gary’s main hobby is astrophotography. He and his wife enjoy book clubs, travel, regular exercise, and visits and travel with their three children and two grandchildren.
