Intro to Behavioral Health Direct Service

This introductory course was designed for a broad set of people with varying interests related to this field. Some example audiences are individuals considering a career in behavioral health direct service work; early-career professionals seeking to gain or refresh their foundational knowledge and skills in the field; community members interested in gaining a better understanding of behavioral health and how to support individuals in need; students or recent graduates exploring opportunities in the behavioral health field; or anyone looking to make a positive impact on the lives of others and contribute to the well-being of their community through direct service work in behavioral health. This course is designed to be an overview of direct service work that has utility no matter your current or future behavioral health organization or specific role. This course will cover an Introduction to Behavioral Health Direct Service; the Evolution of Behavioral Health; Getting to Know Clients; the Direct Services Lifecyle; Evidence Based Practices in Behavioral Health; Baseline Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Behavioral Health; and last, but not least, Self Care.
