The Arizona Tax Credit
Give Local
Give Local
If you could spend your tax money any way you wished, would you send it to the state or keep it local? With the Arizona Tax Credit program, you can direct some of your state income taxes to an agency that meets the goals important to you and your neighbors. It makes good sense to support work you are passionate about and make Tucson a better place to live.
The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit program allows you to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state income taxes. You are eligible to make three types of tax credit donations each year, including one to charitable agencies that serve the working poor like OPCS.
For those filing as single, the charitable tax credit can be up to $400; for those filing jointly, up to $800. You are also able to make tax credit gifts to public or private schools in the same year.
How does it work?
To take advantage of this tax credit:
- You must give to a qualified organization that serves the working poor. That’s OPCS!
- You do NOT need to itemize your taxes to receive this tax credit.
- You can take both the School Credits and the Arizona Charitable Credit.
- It’s that easy! Please consult your tax advisor for details.
