Janette Bernal serves as the Associate Director of Recovery Communities at OPCS.  In her role, she oversees OPCS Re- Entry programs to include transitional housing, intensive outpatient treatment services, and employment services.  

Janette has been in the social services field since 2009. Janette started out her career at OPCS as a volunteer, moving on to intern, to eventually being hired and working several different positions within the agency prior to her current position as Associate Director, which she began in 2017.  Janette was inspired to work in social services as she has a passion for working with those that have experienced addiction, homelessness and incarceration.  This passion moved her to expand her knowledge of how to best help others, which she did through attending college starting at Pima, and moving on to obtain a Masters of Social Work Degree through Arizona State University in 2015.  

Janette enjoys spending time with her family, experiencing new things and “firsts” with her children, traveling back home to North Carolina to visit family, and taking vacations.
