Spend your Arizona tax dollars in Tucson!

You have a choice!  Invest your Arizona income tax dollars in OPCS and help us end homelessness for veterans and persons with addictions or mental illness!

Based on your state tax liability, you may claim an Arizona tax credit that reduces what you pay in state income taxes DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR. Couples who file jointly can reduce their state taxes by up to $800; individuals or heads of household can claim a tax credit of up to $400.

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit is completely separate category from the Private School Tuition and Public School Activity tax credits – you may participate in any one or all three if you choose.

A contribution of $400 ensures housing and support services for one month- a contribution of $800 provides eight weeks of grace for persons who would otherwise be homeless!

HOW DOES IT WORK? It’s as Easy as 1-2-3

  1. Donate to Old Pueblo Community Services ANYTIME before April 15 to claim the tax credit for the previous tax year.
  2. Prepare your state tax return – you no longer have to itemize!
  3. Complete the fillable Arizona Tax Form 321 and Tax Form 301 and include them with your state return. For your convenience, here are instructions for Form 321 and instructions for Form 301.

If you have no Arizona tax liability for the current year, you may carry the tax credit forward for up to five years. Your donation may also be claimed as a charitable deduction on your federal income tax. Talk to your tax preparer for specific information about your eligibility for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit.
