Change a Life - Volunteer!
The first step to becoming a volunteer with Old Pueblo Community Services is to contact our office and set up an introductory meeting! When you meet with us, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about our agency, fill out an application, and share your interests and availabilities.
Become a Mentor! Did you know that people getting out of prison are three times less likely to go back if they have a mentor? To learn more about our new One Step at a Time (OSAT) Mentoring Program through which we recruit and train volunteers to mentor men and women being released from Arizona prisons to our transitional housing, contact Mary Hickert Herring, Volunteer Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org or
Volunteer Outreach Corps Join a dedicated team of volunteers who work with our Outreach Advocates in their efforts to engage homeless veterans and chronically homeless persons in a range of services available to them in Tucson. Asking for a one year commitment, volunteers may attend congregate evening meals, outreach events such as the Veteran StandDowns, Homeless Street Count, Homeless Connect and HOPE Festival, and help move homeless individuals into homes in the community.
Group Activities Have a team of people you like to volunteer with - your church, school, community service organization, or veteran group? We have opportunities for you to engage with and enhance the lives of our persons in transition.
Behind the Scenes Assist our staff with data entry, answering phones, filing, copying, etc. Behind the scenes work is as valuable as direct work—it allows staff to provide uninterrupted and important services to participants.
Special Events/Committee Work Old Pueblo hosts First Tuesday Tours, plans annual fundraising events and participates annually in the United Way Days of Caring.
Board of Directors If you have an interest in serving on the Old Pueblo Group Board of Directors, please contact Tom Litwicki, CEO, email@example.com or (520) 437-3601.
The availability of volunteer opportunities changes throughout the year, so not all projects are available at all times. This list provides a general overview of some options for volunteers.
There are a variety of places where you might spend time volunteering. We thank you for considering OPCS as one of your options. Contact the Mary Herring, Volunteer Coordinator, (520) 445-7065 or firstname.lastname@example.org, to find out what projects might be available at different locations.
