Down Payment Assistance
City of Tucson/Pima County Homebuyer Assistance
Down payment assistance is now available to households that earn less than 80% of Pima County's area median income. The homebuyer is required to contribute at least $1,000 of their own funds. Homebuyer’s liquid assets may not exceed $10,000 after this contribution to the purchase. See Program Guidelines for complete information on eligibility and requirements.
The assistance is up to 3.5% of the purchase contract price, in the form of a second lien, and due upon sale of the home. A 2% interest will be added if the house is sold during years 1-5. The assistance may not be used with the Home Buyer Solutions Program.
Lenders: To request down payment assistance for your borrower, please e-mail the 1003, GFE, and TIL to email@example.com.
To apply for this assistance, the homebuyer will need to:
- Attend OPCS’s Homebuyer Education Class
- Complete the OPCS Application
- Lenders will be able to forward the lender packet to Frances Salcido or fax to 437-0221.
